I may be wrong, but I don't believe you can check SWR in SSB. How do you calibrate the meter in SSB? The power output varies from 0 to max as you speak. Set your antenna with a dead carrier and call it a day.

Personally, I don't get the hype behind running 1/2" coax unless you're running 3kw or a 400' run. I've used LMR-240 for many years and have used 1500 pep through it without any issues. It only has 1db loss at 100' @ 27mhz and it's less than 1/4" diameter. I'm still using 240 today and see NO...
The good news is that Stryker is now designing, building and testing in-house. The near-future will not share the current tech as it is now. They're already building their own daughter boards for the new 955 models.
The good news is...there is another SSB radio in the works. That bad news is it's about the size of a Cobra 29. I can't elaborate on the features and asthetics right now.

My buddy had a major issue with his Galaxy as it kept throwing a carrier on SSB. Didn;t know it until it smoked his Texas Star 250 one day when it threw a 16w dead key into it on SSB.
