Playing around I put two diodes inline with my antenna before the receiver. Attenuated the signal. But seemed like it did better than the rf gain with the signal to noise ratio. Is it? Or did I just imagine that it did? Or is it just an atrenuator?
Basically I want to eliminate the noise pre radio. The rx stages of the radio does nothing for me if it's just amping the racket modern tech produces. It's just a thought
Ive played with the noise eleminators. Works alright for base but looking for a mobile idea. I have one in the mobile but it's just not very mpressive. My base I use a 100ft longwire for the noise antenna. On the mobile it's a 4'whip
I think I'd like to build a noise blanker like the one in the old grant xl radios. Does anyone have a good idea of figuring out the circuit? I suppose the schematic would be a place to start.
Your right. No cmc fix. I have the filter between the tuner and the antenna. I need to drag out the vna and see what it’s doing there and then move it to between the radio and the tuner and see.
I bought a rmitaly 27/586 filter looking to fix some issues. And it worked. 20m does not bleed over the surround sound anymore. The swr on all the bands have been improved and the auto atu does not have to tune near as much on my off center dipole. So the common mode currents have been handled.
I’m gonna do it. If it means cutting the piles down, so be it!! And omg the cheap ass lights on the dollar generals!!!!! And them things are everywhere.
