I thought only guys like me done that ! LOL All joking aside I'm glad you figured it out. My biggest worry is doing something I can't fix and end up with more junk for the heap. That gets expensive and lord knows I don't have money to spare. LOL
Glad I discovered this post,as it sounds similar to a a problem I'm having with my 2ea. Q6Pros in a mobile application. Sounds like I should have waited until the bugs were worked out to purchase these radios. Dummy Me ! LOL
I've used that edit window many time because am a terrible typist ( 1 Finger ) and noticed how the opportunity disappears after a while. The question is can Edit be made permanent? I'm sure there is angles I'm not seeing.
They are predicting thunder storms in my neck of the woods so my antenna will be disconnected. And I wanted to take a ride up country to check out a radio in my Expedition but the dirt road will be muddy so I guess that will be out also. Guess I'll be forced to be Little Susie Homemaker today...
Most of my problem is I have so many projects going on it is too easy to put off the ones I'm not real comfortable with. Most of the time when you get into it you end up wondering why you put it off so long. LOL
Been trying to get the right antenna on my Ford Expedition and It ended up being my K-40 with almost a Flat Line SWR across the 11 meter band. I made a 720 air mile contact to Atlanta Georgia running barefoot with my McKinley on 38 LSB and conditions were lousy. Now I have to throw my Q6 Pro...
Don't feel alone when it come to firmware updates, I might mess my pants also for fear of messing up a expensive radio. I bought the cable and downloaded the updates for my 2 Q6 Pros firmware, but have to work up the courage. LOL
Radio was crap yesterday and looks like that today. Thank god for projects. Looks like next week is antenna adjust time along with Cobalt body work time. Never a dull moment around here.
I checked that DX site this morning and it said 10-12 meter was suppose to be good and I haven't heard crap when ever I tried to listen so I shut it off & taken care of business.
So it sounds like it can be done and the method to the madness is a matter of personal choice. My Cobra 2000 has extra channels with 2 repurposed front switches which I'm not crazy about so I might consider more options. If I was going to invest the time and money in to a radio I would figure it...
I bought a GE Super Base 2-3 years ago and love that radio. It receives well and sounds good and is still on frequency transmitting. I like the 2 antenna hook ups on the back so you can run a vertical or a beam. It is the 1 radio I would consider paying for a complete over-haul if I had to & it...
I checked that solar conditions web site and 10-12 meter has only been fair 3 days in a row but I did make a local contact on 37 lsb yesterday while tuning my cobalt antenna at my favorite spot High on a hill with no obstructions. He was about 15 miles from me and gave me his phone number and...
I'll be down your way in Danville on the 16th for hopefully my last post-op appointment at 2:30 PM. I'll give a shout for you on 37 lsb between 1:30 - 3:30 PM from the parking lot. But you might be working. That's been my story lately. Better days are coming !
