Ugh.... Ive said it earlier this year and probably will... I NEED to get a 6m dipole up lol.. I am still not familiar with or where to listen on 6m or where one can talk simplex etc... I know it goes from 50mhz to 54mhz I believe, but not sure where to go.
Oops, Here is the picture of the other side.... Thanks for your input Nomad. Your advice is greatly appreciated all of these years. If this amp is a lost cause then no worries. Just was hoping to bring it back from the dead... :)
I removed the failed SSB Bias parts lol.... I put back stuff to the way it was, but it still burned up the resistors you see in the picture... The second it seen any power, it instantly cooks the resistor. It was on my trusty 146 GTL radio which does around 10 watts SSB max on peak modulation...
Hello,
Its been awhile since I messed with this amp. I did my best to add SSB Biasing, and thats when it took a dive and burned up on me. (The two resistors next to eachother were to make up for the burned up resistor I didn't have), and it still cooks the resistor when you transmit. Basically...
Someone at this year's Vintage Computer Festival, had the TV series streaming random episodes on the small TV they put together using a raspberry Pi board. You could switch to the next random episode by pressing your foot on the pedal they had.
Mother Nature was nice to me here in Kansas. Had fun on AM and talking to a handful of stations. 713 Virginia and 199 North Carolina were two loud stations coming on in.
You hit the nail on the head. Another reason I can think of using DVI is because it is much harder to break off vs a HDMI port. Those DVI to HDMI cables work just fine.
Another moment for......... Riiiiiiiiise from your grave......... :D
But yea. The radio works pretty good. I recently posted about doing the clarifier unlock with pictures in a post I think it was either last year or the year before. The only thing I dont like is when you key up, the audio...
To be sure, wasn't there a difference in the Texas Star DX500v amps like the new vs old? I suppose the build quality or maybe the newer ones werent quite as good? Just making sure if that was ever a thing on the Texas Star amps.
I havent had the best of luck doing this. :) i did buy some trim pot resistors so you can set the gate voltage. From what I understood, some IRF520s need a higher gate voltage so they turn on. I think one needed to "match" a set of transistors for the amp. Otherwise, I was able to use some...
