This is the D-104 that came in the big package deal. It has a 9 volt batterry in the base. Is it possible to narrow down the radios it could be wired for from this pic?

I just got off the phone with Palco. The W58 should be here by Tuesday. Can I just hook it up and tune for SWR and go with it? Do I need to get a "tuner"? Build a choke coil?

Check this out. Hooked up the President and the display said hr2510 turned it to am 26.965 and talked to my son on the handheld on channel 1. Opened it up to have a peek, turns out it has a Switchchip already installed. Putting out 25 on AM and swinging 45 SSB. Can't wait till I get my base...

Thanks for the info. The car antennas I tried on the roof (16'-18' off the ground). All work fine on the Jeep Cherokee attached to a mag mount with little or no tuning. With them on the roof I can't get my SWR under 3. I attempted to make a groundplane from three 8-1/2' wires. No better...

Thanks, yeah it's pretty cool. Not even just the radios. All the meters and power supplies and stuff. Yesterday I only had the 980SSB and the Midland handheld my boy likes to play with. Now it's like we have a housefull of stuff to play with.
