Can the copper...
OK that sounds good about the Workman.
I took down my Maco V58 for one reason. Every time it rained it would de-tune downward in frequency by lots. Otherwise, it worked great. Just wondering if the Workman will de-tune with rain?
Awesome! Going to give it a try tomorrow on 11 meter.
Here is the Delta-Alfa radio club link for 135DA/0. The island is Malaita.

I heard him last weekend, but he was low on my receive, but was coming up. Just checked his logs, and yes he heard me. I heard him about 4/4, but another station kept calling him, and stepping on his signal, so I never did get my signal report.
Signal to noise ratio is awesome on a Delta...
Made the contact with 249DA/0 yesterday from western NC. I was 5/5, and Giovanni was 5/4 to 5/6.
My Gain-Master 5/8 is getting more Pacific stations than I have ever had with any other antenna. Down below is the link to Giovanni's 249DA/0 adventure.

Had my first contact from 339DA/0 27.630 USB. Darren is on Pigeon Island Temotu Province. It's an on going island activation I think. Made contact at 5/5 round about 2:00 EST. from western NC.
There is a guy that is close to me that has had a Heathkit Cantenna listed on Facebook market place for a long time now for $50. He is highly rated. Link below.

Sorry for the late reply. Been really busy rebuilding stuff, and my body is just plain wore out. Arthritis is slowly doing what it does.
Anyway, thanks for the replies and likes! Just glad to be back, and being part of the best radio forum on the net.
Helene was dumping rain on my area three days before the storm actually hit. Then the winds came, and more rain. On the day Helene hit here in Western, NC, it was around 6:00 AM morning, and did not subside to around 5:00 PM that evening. Winds were gusting to about 70, and staying steady...
Quad 6 is still a very good radio. The Quad 6 was not the only radio that came out that had the skippy encoder...Stryker and President Lincoln versions just to name a couple. There were others too.
SPT-500 assembled wrong from the factory video.

Friend of mine had a 2x6 Fatboy. Nothing but trouble with the two pill engaged. It had a switch to cut the two pill transistor section off. Ran great on the straight six.
