President McKinley radio and using the President New York (Virigina) little mag mount until my new vehicle comes next month - although I may slap the Wilson 5000 on and throw an amp back in if the DX keeps up like this.
It was amazing listening to the story, hope everyone will enjoy it. The man talking is just such a smart guy so as a CB radio hobbyist it is really captivating.
Next question.
It's about 50 minutes long - should I break it up into part 1 and part 2 at 25 mins each?
Not sure if people would...

I think I've got photos and videos coming from people for everything except for a CPI 400. If anyone has one of those that's the last need :)
Thank you everyone. This video is going to be really cool, it's like stepping back in time and the engineer gave some really...
Hi Everyone, as some of you know I picked up a CPI 300 recently and was going to do a video on it, but through chance I actually turned that project into a video with one of the original founders of the company who I did a short history interview with to try to capture some information from the...
DX today wasn't bad and I have to say I'm enjoying making contacts with a barefoot cb radio and a 20" antenna :) Amps and export radios are sitting in the garage all jealous.
No they sent me one during testing to see how it worked in lowering the SWR with my antenna. I'm guessing it will roll out shortly if they had good results all around.
Troys radio service is completely legit and are the real deal - they are a Flex radio service repair center in addition to their business service contracts and also CB radio :)
I tested the extension and it does work. My only concern is if it will be a weak point long term but only time will tell. I was happy to see they are working to solve the issue.
I'm selling my 2nd (commuter) vehicle and so had pulled out my amp and took off my big antenna and was running barefoot today with a President McKinely and a President New York/Virgina antenna and made a nice contact with 1117 TN today :) Wasn't expecting to be able to make a contact with the...
I know one member has tried the bulletproof mount -https://bulletproofdiesel.com/collections/antenna-mounts
I'm looking at the larsen mounts and wondering if anyone has tried one and if they saw a good ground/SWRs

Not using the AMP remote switching input, just controlling the actual power leading to the amp. In the past I've run the shutoff wire to a switch on the dash but in this case the vehicle already has the wires in place for power in this specific cubby but I'd rather not have to run the additional...
Ok so it does sound like you have the version that is 4 inches shorter. The statement that your Wilson 1000 gets out better than your Max 2000 worries me though - regardless of the antenna length issue even at 1.7 or 2.0 SWR your Max2000 at 36 feet should easily outdo your Wilson antenna.
The amp in question will draw less than 30 amps so the amperage shouldn't be an issue. My bigger box wouldn't fit in this location so this vehicle is going to only be doing 200-300W. The remote I'm looking at is a 40 amp version but I couldn't post the link from Amazon.
I'm just wondering if...
I'm getting a new vehicle in a couple of months and it has a very cool hidden spot where I could install an amp for a very clean install (hidden) however it would be inaccessable to turn the amp on or off and I don't want to hardwire a remote power switch.
Has anyone tried using a remote...
Couple of questions for you.
- When did you purchase your current Imax 2000?
- Can you measure the length of your Imax fully assembled?
- What is your install, how is it mounted and how high?
- Is your antenna easily accessible?
- What equipment are you using to measure your SWR?
I may be...
