Here's another crazy idea - voice controls - like Amazon Echo , or the newest GoPro has them, you can tell it to turn on, etc.
It would be great for hands free in the vehicle - some things it could do by voice

Interested to hear what people feel is lacking or just some ideas on things you'd like to see in the CB world?
The DDS VFO from Troy has been pretty neat lately - what other cool things do you want someone to create?
Sky is the limit here
I'll start off with some crazy ideas.
Handheld (or...
The older BHI I tried I couldn't stand because of the delay when you'd unkey - the static would flare for a couple of seconds before coming under control again, drove me nuts. I'm guessing the newer stuff has solved that issue.
I've been using local SDR stations quite a bit. In listening to myself and other stations they seem to give a pretty realistic idea of how you sound on the air.

A spare radio works but I prefer to hear a receiving station some distance away as it sounds quite...
Hilarious, that’s exactly what happened, eventually I was just giving radio checks on each town I was passing through. “Big Kahuna, now going through _______”.
Most times I only talk to a person for 10 mins or so, after 30 mins I don’t have much more to say :)
Was doing a late night drive last night and heard some locals on 17 so said hello and talked a bit as I passed through their city. Even though I was headed away from them at 70mph 30 minutes later I could still hear them so said hello again and continued to be able to make contact with them for...
I wanted to buy a set - or maybe pack of 5.
Didn't realize these were so hard to find.
On Amazon someone is selling 1 for $20.
$5.50 for 1 on eBay - still pricey for what it is.
Any other ideas on where to get some of these cheap.
It's a 10/32" x 1/16" set screw
Last piece of the puzzle - 7.5V battery for the CPI branded Turner Road King 60.
Very similar to the M+2 - smoking microphone, should never need to turn this up past halfway :) Road King 60 actually was listed as having a wider freq response than the +2. 300 to 3500Hz vs 300 to 3000Hz...
DX was so good the last couple of weeks but this week it's been really up and down in the NW. I could hear lots of the SW last night but couldn't get anyone to come back and then out of the blue I make a contact with a guy in the Yukon and then 10 seconds later the bottom drops out. Throughout...
That is the ugliest radio I have ever seen. That looks like a photoshop April fools joke.
If only the radio manufacturers trolled our threads to learn what people really want.
Wow - I just did a search and found this thread because this exact question came up in a discussion with someone yesterday.
Why do we use 1kHZ 50mV? What was the historical reasoning that this became the standard in radio equip and studio testing, etc.?
Additionally, it was brought up that the...

SO why would this guy have a SINCGARS antenna on his pickup?
Might be a Shakespeare antenna -

Did some more research and looks like the FC60 counter did make it into production at one point, although I haven't seen many of them around.
Still one day hoping to see a CP-2500, that thing is rare!
I emailed him today - hoping I can do an interview with him. Made some contacts to Cali with it today. Not much output (5-7 watts PEP on both AM and SSB) but the stock microphone is a bit lacking in gain on the lows. Audio sounded nice though on the SDR but I'm really excited to test out the...
