yup that was my findings too they worked well had low swr,they werent that noticable on ya vehicle.only drawback ive found is there not as broadbanded.but if ya look at the small amount of money spent on these it has me rethinking going back to them
just wanting to throw my 2 cents worth in. locally i have used fm and works great suelch out all other noise.one thing i will say is if ya talking to a mobile far off and signal is dropping ya open up squelch and it gets harsh to listen too.so i find as long as i can have a quso with the squelch...
id try either a wilson silverload fiberglass or skipshooter fiberglass antenna
the lenth you chose is ya chose . id recommend taking a tape measure see how much ya need to clear the roofline. im guessing 3 feet . both antennas are advailable at copper.com ..ive used both on mirrior mounts years...
yes those antennas do well. for all they are. they do have thier limits though.
low power handling , very narrowed banded. two that i noticed but they do work well and inexpensive
a possible solution is have respectable tech install a toggle switch to turn amp off on the n2..or buy a 2950. last and most expensive option is buy a 8 pill amp . none of this is probaly what ya wanted to hear but to my best of knowledge this is where your at
