Look, it's obvious that you have a low opinion of other shops, if anyone wants to go look at your post history.

My brother has been running the QT80 for a base about a month now and is happy with it, it sounds just as good as his Kenwood on TX in back to back on air comparisons.

Not the AM carrier, AMC is automatic modulation control, a VR on the board that limits peak modulation.
Try this, put the radio on a wattmeter and slowly reduce the microphone gain while talking and note the result on pep.

I would suggest you keep it below 14.5 volts most vehicles charge in that range when started.
The bias is fixed, so increased supply voltage means more bias voltage this in turn means you get more heat.
You get a few more watts but it's nothing that will matter on the other end of a QSO and just...
For some users you are correct, however there are lots of guys that are more than capable of working on their own equipment.
More prevelant in ham radio, but manufacturers would often offer accessory's that could be added to radios after purchase without voided warranty.

As President is selling the fan kit separately and must be installed, and as there is already settings in the software to control them it would be insane to say that cutting the seal to install a factory option would void the warranty.
