Are either of those speakers 12vdc powered? I was looking at one at Radio Shack that is powered (tried to find a link, but that model doesn't seem to be on their site). Anyway, it was $37.00, and I'm jsut wondering if it's worth the extra money for one that is amplified?

I don't think there is anyway to disable it. I have found that it definitely drains the battery more quickly. The only way I know to do it is to remove the GPS unit.

I tried a different pair, but this one doesn't fit into the recessed slot. The first pair was a 3-wire connector and should've been able to work. I'll call them and see what they say.
