To answer your question you cannot just simply chage out a transistor for a different one, and or a different numbered one.
This is something that cannot just be "simply explained" to someone that has no expereience with amplifiers. I would suggest that you put the amplifier to the side and...
With an amplifier of that size the larger alternator will be a nessissity. You would also benifit from upgrading the charge wire to 4 guage and go directly from the alternator to the battery.
I run a streight 4 transistor amplifier, And running a 170 amp alternator and the lights still dim a...
"This is not and should never be a CB vs Ham site"... Agreed.
However, In real world applications "rules" are subjective at best. It's is just a matter of what one beleives in OTHER than what is layed out by the FCC.
I don't see anything that is need of being "ended".
Just a...
Hi all, I am still planning to work with this issue. Just trying to find the time to get it done.
Perhaps a good project over the winter months.
Stay tuned....
Sadly enough this is correct. However I still have that re-design project I am still trying to get to. I bet that most of those problems will vanish after the rework of the bias and feedback circuits.
Now if I could just find the time....
Now there is something I haven't heard of in a very long time. The Gentelman's Agreement. This came from a time when there was respect and understanding on 11 meters many, many moons ago. And even then it was the old timers that most often respected this. It has been almost 38 years since I last...
Now here is an interesting thread...lol
There alre alot of ham ops that use power on 11 meters these days. They just arent inclined to tell you about it. This is clearly evedent on 38 lsb most of the time when the dx is running. Not hard to pick them out as they stick out like a sore thumb...
Your welcome. glad you like it. You ought to try out the vgs-1 voice module for it, it's pretty neat. Looking into 220 now. Not sure if I want to go with the jetstream or the tyt. I heard allot of reports of the mic falling apart on the tyt's.
That's good to hear brett. I didn't trust the wilson mag for the commet so I opted for the larger one. Been using the commet 790a for over a year with no issues. It is an excellent antenna. I carry the CA 2X4SR and the NR-770 as back up's.
I seen those larsons too and they didn't really have...
That is about what they do untouched give or take .25 on am( which is probably the mode he tested it in), But it will definetly need a complete alignment, plus whatever has been clipped or screwed with.
you would need to connect a device that is capable of running a little over the specified rating and install an ammeter inline with it that is capable of reading more than ten amps.
An inductive clamp on dc ammeter perhaps.
