I have also really enjoyed getting to talk to fellow members, it is nice to put a voice to the name. I really like that you can throw some wire up and start talking on the radio. What i really like about this site is someone is always willing to help you out, keep up the good work guys.
So you guys don't laugh at this, but my brother inlaw wanted a radio to use while he was out of work but he had no money. We went to goodwill and found this cobra 7 plus for 5.00. i tuned it up a little got pretty good results 18 or 20 swing. then i got him the power supply 2 amp for 5.00 wire...
One thing you can do is the top rail, then go to the conduit section find the one that the top rail fits into its a pretty good fit. overlap 6-8" drill a hole and pin it with a eye bolt that makes it easy to pull out when you lower it. I like to put some paint on the inner pipe to let you know...
I have a 979 and i have the freq. counter which just plugs in the back of the radio. When i turn it on its off freq. slightly but once it warms up like Grogan said its good to go. I do live in Ca. so mild weather compared to some. When my 2980 needed some work I brought it into the house, i had...
Yes it's a 1987 that I have turned into a rock crawler sas in the front dual low range transfer cases, my son has a white 87 with 350,00 miles on the original motor. They are great little rigs.
John don't get me wrong , I have had a few questions for you in the past and was very happy with the quick response back. I have great service from your P/S, and it would be great to see the difference in the 2 supplies .

I have a ts-430 and it looks very similar. I don't know which filters you need but this is a company that others have told me to get, I'm sure someone will give some good info to you in time.

Great review Tim. I have the mega watt 40 amp and the cheaper amazon 30 amp power supply and both have been great, I only use them on 11 meter and don't get any noise that i can hear from either. I don't have your equipment to test or your knowledge on how to test as you have. My only question...
I finally got to go out and check the sirio for skip and it works great, while driving through the valley area close to my house i made contacts and never seemed to make them with the wilson. Could have just been good conditions who knows really. I also went out on a high area above the bay here...
I got the 5000 sirio installed it on the wilson 5000 thru mount on the roof of my truck, without adjusting just the way it came my swr on 27.385 is 1.04. The best i could get the wilson was 1.5 so i'm happy.
We need a better picture 314, the lights are throwing off you camera settings, that being said looks like a great start and thats a big box to the left lol. Have fun!!
I agree with wave rider don't cut just push them in for adjustment. amy 4 element sirio will actually cover 10 meter pretty well i'm adjusted to the upper 11 meter channels. Good luck!
