What happens if one changes the roller inductor from 24-uH to say 35-uH or 44-uH or even 77-uH? Or change out air capacitors to vacuum one instead of 500pf 10-1200pf? Curious about it for something kinda doodling in my head for a home made tuner.

I've tinkered around 14-10 awg seems work well. Larger 8-6 tried came to conclusion was waiste of money 14-10 awg worked fine and very pleased. Just article looked to good to be true aka a lot of BS seemed to be.

Wow excellent explanation. Mine doesn't have a scale just a line and compression numbers 10 ----- 20 ect suppose to keep it on compression between 10-20 no one has said I am over modulating and I use either a stock mic or a D-104 and run it v v v low on gain setting on bottom of it.

What I did would it benift me or 60/40 or 63/37 be about right? And lead or lead free? Lead does t bother me at all just prefer best bang for the buck to do the job. Just little things like that and cable connectors is about it for now lol.
