I found some name brand surround sound speakers at a thrift store, I think there around 4" and seem to sound good down to 100hz!
Also have some cheap surround sound speakers that sounds like poo.
Pretty sure the KL-203 uses zener diodes.
FWI if anyone swaps mosfets in these little amp there are sockets that can be bought making the next swap a lot easier!
Here is what I did to fix my RM KL503, I think RM Italy had some out of spec caps because C34 was not providing enough bias to the base of TR2. Allowing the the main RX/TX relay to still be keyed because of the SSB delay but not all they relays in the amp would stay keyed for the low rf levels...
You want to inject to the negative side of the cap.
Yes it looks like you lose RX, might need a relay.
Improving RX would be a chore, you also still limited on TX and RX by the audio transformer.
You have more options than you can shake a stick at! Look into VST plugins and programs that host them. There are quite a few website devoted to free VST plugins.
I have a KL503 relay clicks over with vary little watts. Mine doesn't like SSB it acts as of the relay is chattering but its not. The only way I could get it to work is with the ALC all the way up and just about yell into the microphone.
