I have a new development with my Ten-Tec situation .
I discovered today that the Ten-Tec 262M power supply that came with the Triton One when I bought it , does work . So now I'm trying to figure out how to safely pair the power supply and the Triton One together . The 262 power supplies jack...
This Triton 1 (510) has a 6 pin power lead on it. Do any of you know if there is anywhere that makes a ten tec styled universal 6 pin power lead that I could buy to use for running it with a regular power supply ? Or maybe I can build one myself.
In the manual it says that :
For AC supply...
Thank you Shockwave. I didn't think what he was saying made much sense to me either. But I listened carefully to his instructions just in case, and I continued to run what he had said through my head . But all of my experience with radios through the years, made me keep questioning his...
Which is exactly what I thought too . But this man was VERY adamant that when I hooked the Triton I to the 262 , I first had to make sure to internally turn it's Amps back to about 8-10 using the 207 Ammeter for monitoring the proper amperage.
The Pyramid PS21KX, and an MFJ 25 amp MightyLite...
I do have a Pyramid PS21KX that I'm not using ... which is 13.8 VDC and 18 AMP Constant/20 AMP Surge . Would it be possible to use that power supply to run the Triton I ? Because the man I bought it from was very insistent that I keep it below 18 amps ... more like around 8 - 10 amps for the radio .
Ok everyone, here's a question for all of you radio techs out there. I just recently went to a local ham fest and I bought an old Ten-Tec Triton One (Triton I) 510 . First of all , it did come with a Ten-Tec Model 262M power supply , a banana mic styled Ten-Tec stock mic , and an old Ten-Tec...
I've finally tracked down the culprit , it wasn't the radio or the coax . It was the MH-1B8 stock mic . I went with Shadetree's advice , hooked my dummy load up to FT-757GXII , and listened on my FT-897D using my headphones ... and my MH-1B8 stock mic had dirty contacts . When I bought the radio...
I guess that my confusion is coming from the fact that I've been using this same coax and antenna for at least 10/12 years without any issues. And now all of a sudden I'm being told that I have RF in my audio. I'm always on 40 meters, and on LSB , but I've tried different radios with the same...
To answer a few questions. I was talking on my Yaesu FT-757GXII , using it's stock mic , with a Carolina Windom antenna. I am using a LDG Z-11 Pro automatic antenna tuner, so I shouldn't be having any SWR problems. I was on LSB talking on a 40 meter net. But checking out my coax I found a few...
Hi everyone , I just tried to check into a Net on 40 meters and the Net controller told me that he was hearing some RF in my audio . What I was wondering is, exactly what kind of damage can your radios get from keying up with RF in your audio ?
Keep in mind that, no I'm not going to keep trying...
Hi everyone, I know that I can't be the only person that's had to deal with this issue. But I haven't been able to find a way to fix the problem without picking up and moving to a new house.
Everyday I get between 8 - 9 pounds of static noise on my radio. But it stops every night between 11 -...
Hi everyone,
I bought this Icom IC290a 2 meter all mode radio a little while ago . The radio has sideband in it , but it doesn't have tones for accessing the repeaters that use tones . So I bought a tone board to install in it . When I opened it up, I found this little board...
I have a Swan Cubic 100MXA that I'm trying to wire a Cobra (coffin styled) stock mic to . If you're not familiar with the radio , it has the phono jack styled microphone jack . I've tried multiple wiring combinations with no luck .
This mic has 5 wires and their colors are :
Red
White
Shield...
I've been looking at frequency counters online, and I've noticed that a lot of them don't have their BNC alligator clip test leads ... and I was wondering, if I buy a replacement test lead for whatever frequency counter I buy , will any BNC test lead work, or will I only be able to use brands...
