Anyone have any 2 meter equipment you would want to part with fairly inexpensive? I am looking for someting in a mobile, FM, PL tone for repeaters, and single band OK. I read great things about the Radio Shack HTX-242 but can't locate one around here. Gigaparts has the Icom 2100h for $135, but I...
Thanks Main, that is a really cool program. You can set the speed and a lot of other options. Take care my friend.

I just went and took my Tech and General tests today. I passed both of them. Now I just need to get my code out of the way and fast, so I can talk on my TS 140 on the HF bands. I don't have any VHF equipment so I need to get my code done ASAP. Anyone know of software or other learning aids so I...

I stand corrected. I've had 3 of these radios (Magnum 257, Comanche Blackhawk, and the RSPY-485) and they all to me with the TX opened up. My apoligies.

The Magnum 257 and its clones come from the factory with the clarifier mod done. The TX and RX both are adjusted when you turn the CLAR knob.<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/smile.gif ALT=":)">

What could I do to add a little more low response to a unamplified Shure 444 mic? Is there a cap or some type of coupling component I could use to help add a little more bass. I don't want to eliminate the mid range just increase the low end response. Or is this some kind of pipe dream I have...
You might try Midland. The Alan radios are exported by Midland, though I don't know if they would sell you one but it's worth a shot.

Christy,
Did you try Radio Shack? They should be able to get you the info you need, if not they should know where to look. Give that a try and let us know and we can go from there.
Take care

For what a 2950DX costs new you could buy a clean used HF rig. Something like a Kenwood TS140, 440 or Yeasu FT840. You will have a lot more radio than a 2950 DX. I always try and steer radio operators to a good HF radio, they have better receivers and sound so sweet on the air.

Tommy, I apoligize for what I posted, you were right it was way off base. Some people, (like me<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/smile.gif ALT=":)"> ), take what you say and gather you think you are a CB god. We all say and do things differently, so I was wrong and...
You could hook it to where the power leads connect to the board. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/smile.gif ALT=":)">

I have a Uniden Pro340XL hand held radio and I would like to put a external mic on it. I was going to put a 4 pin plug on the side. What I need is the info on the switch for the PTT, which is TX and REC , I know where to hook the audio wire I just need the other info. If anyone can help I would...
Rugrat235,
Thanks for the verificaion of the squelch working only in FM mode. Just wish there was a mod to change that. I use a Shure 444 on my 140 with excellent results. I'm sure the MC60 is a great choice also, they always sound good.
