that's fine, i can't find any on ebay and they shouldn't cost too much to post. PM me your paypal and price. give me 3-4 days to sort out funds. i'm in the republic of ireland btw.
Thanks for answering my question CK. As the 850 died with me and was sold on I cannot check it again but I distinctly remember a relay clicking in it and the receive dropping out momentarily on 7, 7.5, 27, 27.5 .Perhaps I am forgetful of other bands but truth is I didn't spend much time...
I was looking at different radio designs on the net and the amateur band only radios have a single bandpass filter switched in and out for each ham band. But I have used many general coverage radios for example the kenwood ts850 which as you tune you hear a relay switch at every half megahertz...
In ireland almost everyone I know runs a watson 25 amp linear supply http://www.eham.net/reviews/detail/6932 35 amp versions of the same are popular also.
i just filed 5mm of circuit board off each end of the strips on mine, then flattened down the copper and soldered it on. cheaper than epoxy and you can replace the pill strips if you need to.
I do not know the minimum step size on that board I linked you to so I do not know then if it would be suitable as a pll replacement.
The programming may not be easier but with the proper use of loops it need not be tedious to maintain or repetitive to write.
There is example code provided...
my bad, i know, it's not finished but i hoped you could tidy it up. i dont have the arduino lcd and wire.h libraries installed so i couldnt compile it, i just rushed it together in case you wanted to add bands easily. so now you know about while and if/else loops. and i've never programmed for...
It's a comprehensive and well done project but there is a reason these mods have been superseded by dds vfos, this type of mod won't make the radio tune between channels.http://www.adafruit.com/products/2045
here is a vfo for your arduino for 8 dollars that doesn't need any pll traces cut or...
it's very comprehensive and gives every resistor value one could need, so probably the best openly documented circuit i've seen. a pity however that it doesn't include thermal tracking and integrating that in a half assed manner would spoil the linearity.

aside from motorolas application notes and many internal amp pics that were collected on for sale adverts that it is doubtful if i should be releasing there is very little here about biasing that is not elsewhere on...
Ive never found it a problem. The new post page changes in under an hour so in all honesty how often do you need to check new posts?. Also its easy to see which posts you have read already because they are coloured in a lighter shade of blue.
