So far I am really happy with my Magnun S45HP with the rfx-75 stock. Even if it is a junky horrible sounding export that could never match the sound of a properly tuned cobra. I have a cobra 29 I just had an rfx-75 installed on as well. I haven't tried it yet. Still waiting to get it back.
I have always been intrigued by the 2950 and 2970. Just bought the magnum cause I'm a truck driver and talk alot on AM. So I thought the AM audio might be a little stronger on the magnum.
I have a masterbuilt electric smoker. I like it alot, but built an ugly drum smoker a few weeks ago and it makes briskets almost just like a wood smoker. Thick smoke ring and all.
That's exactly what my CRE is doing. Still talkback even when talkback says off. If you find an answer please share with me. I may have the RK56 on it tonight. If that helps I will let you know. I really feel like its coming from that mic. I just can't want to like that little cheapy feeling...
Awesome. Maybe it's my mic. No matter where the gain is set. When I key up I hear a scratching sound in my external speaker. Hopefully the RK56 does well. Are you not liking the S45-HP? It took me awhile to get it how I want it. With my mic gain at 12 o'clock, rf power at 12 o'clock and me being...
What microphone are you guys using on the CRE 8900? My stock mic sounds horrible. I have a guy wiring my RK-56 or I was thinking of ordering an Astatic RD104E. I really like that mic on my Magnum in the big truck. It really woke it up.
I don't have a spring or extension. I'm thinking about trying to fabricate some sort of extension. My coax broke so I have to run a new one. Guess I'll have lots of experimenting to do.
I had a wilson 5000 base load. Drilled and mounted to the center of the roof of my suburban. Paired with a Galaxy DX 98VHP. That combination was one of the better radios i've had the pleasure to run. I talked to my dad who had the same model galaxy on his ford pickup with a 102" whip for 70...
I bet I can get out now. This isn't the optimal mounting spot for the antenna, but the 102" whip is definitely doing a much better job than the 3' K-40 was. I was able to talk to my cousin 20+ miles on LSB. Hopefully with more grounding i'll get the SWR's down more. They are 1.5 on 1 and 1.3 on 40.
I bought a Red Devil for my Magnum S-45HP. Got it in today. I REALLY like the results so far. It is a brand new radio and came with a factory power mic. I drive a big truck and the background noise was just way too much. I tried a RK56 and an Astatic 636L. I got reports that the stock power mic...
I need to order the cable. The plug on the CRE is the same as a mini USB cable. I have several mini USB cables so I wanted to make sure they wouldn't work before spending $25 on another one. I plugged it into the radio and the computer. The computer didn't recognize it. So looks like I'll be...
I've been really lucky so far. I had a galaxy 98vhp in my suburban for a couple of years. A cobra 29 in my jeep for a year and various galaxies and a 158edx in the big truck for over 4 years. Both vehicles spend lots of time late nights and weekends in a dark Walgreens parking lot with the store...
It's not a great pic,but hear is the only one i've taken so far. I had a Cobra 29ltd Chrome up there so it was all wired up and ready to go. I think i may eventually move it up to the footmans loop above the rearview mirror. All i can say so far is i am very pleased with this little radio
