Quit messing with that 980 sell it on Ebay and buy a new Grant II does what you want your 980 to do can do half channels and goes from 26 something to almost 30 something, sure would be cheaper for you and it's the same size radio
I've got an older Cybernet chassis RCA Sideband radio, sideband works great but have no AM any ideas would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance Tom 348 from Central New Jersey
One question I just have to ask why would you buy such a good SSB radio to talk on AM. There are a ton of AM only radios that kick ass and a lot cheaper too.
Tony V I have one left was taken out of box, checked for damage, did the 11 meter mod. 250 to your door 48 states. Also installed the regular 3 pin power plug, they come from the factory with just wires with nothing on them. If your interested email me tucker4422@verizon.net

Has anybody figured out how to unlock the clarifier on the new Grant II? Mine is dead on center slot but talkiing skip would be nice to be able to slide a little. Thanks for your comments in advance
I will say I have know 2 radio friends who bought 667 amps and they both had issues. Like most guys said the first 100 watts is what makes a big difference 125 to 150 on SSB in a mobile can get you talking to anyone you hear from coast to coast and further. So do yourself a favor, get someone to...
If I was going to buy a new one again I would go with Yeticom, honest place to deal with and Dave from Yeticom is the original person that got the manufacture to make it to his specs so really it is his design. I still using my MKII and love it
I have to say Chip at Radio Shop Supply is Aces with me even if it costs you 90 bucks at least you know the radio will be correct. They have done quite a few radios for me and I am 100% satisfied with their work. Remember Great Radio Techs aren't expensive they are Priceless.
