EZPAL has numerous different sending modes and I am far to new at the program to know if that would cause a different audio tone to be generate or not I will hook my scope up the rig while I send a series of different modes and see if there is a pronounced difference in tones or wave forms sent...
I found out what the mystery signals are. Ifr you download a program called EZPAL you will find out that it is a Slow Scan signal and you need the EZPAL program to decode it. It is rather odd since the waterfall displays you callsign before you see the finished product. Also the picture does...
I to have heard the above mentioned noise in Minnesota and the next time I hear it I have the recorder in-line to capture and post it here for others to listen to.
I have a question or two but I will preface it with a comment. I have heard great things about the Flex 5000 and hear it is a great radio. Myself having been at this hobby for so many years I can never see myself not having knobs to tweak and turn and that is likely the reason I'm still using...
To be honest, I really do miss the FT-950 and the main reason is size. My hand are larger than the average bears (to give you a hint I wear a size 22 ring) and my hands aren't fat just Iowa Farm Boy Big. The 590 in my view is made more for the piano player hands and the FT-950 is made for a...
I had a friend that purchased a new TS-590 and after using it for a week he decided that it had to many menus and the controls were to small. He then turned around and asked if I would trade my FT-950 for his 590. Having had such great luck with my TS 2000 I decided to take a chance and see...
The two worst interference generators I have ever heard are as follows. 1. An electric fence that has a weed, plant or tree branch on the wire which causes it to arc like made and it can wipe the band with noise. 2. Is an aquarium water heater, especially if it is for tropical fish and not...
Without the Pan Adapter you would not see much other the IF frequency of the IF-2000 board which installs in the area reserved for the MTU. If you got the MTU tossed in with the 950 someone must have had a screw loose since the MTU retails for $1900.00 dollars and sells for $996.00.
I am a bit late getting these posted but here goes
Here is the FT-950, TS-2000, LP Pan Adapter and Creative EMU-0202 sound device.

Here you have the LP Pan Adapter and Yaseu SP-2000 Filtered Speaker

I have done business with the Wireman for the antennas I have made for my friends. I have nothing but glowing comments for him and he is very knowledgeable and willing to help some of us that lack all the knowledge about wires and cables. The other company I have also heard good things about...
Nice job what you have done is not as easy as some think it is, you deserve a pat on the back and the girl friend or wife should award you a new toy for your dedication.
I sold an old boat anchor I had collecting dust and made enough money off of it to obtain some new goodies to go with my new FT-950. I first added the SP-2000 speaker from Yaseu. This is the filtered speaker that matches the radio very well and the filtering is what makes it far better than a...
I can remember when the units were assembled by inmates from Starksville Correction Facility back they were more concerned about making a sharp shiv to gank someone with that quality items.
As far as having a lot of money that is a huge no. I was able to obtain one of the radios by trading some other ham gear that I have had for over 20 years. Seems like a lot of people are getting back into AM and so I traded E.F. Johnson transmitter and Hallicrafter receiver for the one radio...
I had purchased it in hopes that it would be a better radio than the TS-2000 that I have setting beside it. I have done numerous on the air checks with stateside as well as DX contacts trying to see what other people thought of the two radios in a side-by-side comparison. It has almost be...
I would need to see the price and then do a comparison of features to that price before I would consider purchasing one. To many hams buy a new rig simply to say they have one and then turn around and sell if for less than they paid for it which is great for someone that can pickup a rig this...
I am an avid follower of QTH.com and read the ads daily so I can have a pretty good idea of what the going rates are for radios. The radio that has interested me the most since I am seeing more than a normal number of them being offered not only on that web site but other dealers as well. The...
