Mountain View Electronics in Tennessee evidently is not doing anything. I tried to call but their number has been disconnected or is no longer in service.
I am looking for a CB radio repair shop that can work on a Magnum S-9.
I have an Magnum S-9 and when you first turn it on it goes from 27.185 to 24.440 until it warms up a bit and then it goes back to 27.185. Every now and then for the first 30 minutes to an hour if the truck leans to the right...
Hmmmm I don't know about that because I have used a 102" whip mounted to the t-bar in front of the radiator on an '97 Mack RD-800 and ran them for years like that with no problems before. This is what I drive during work and all I have is a Uniden Pro 510 mounted on the dash and using a 102"...
I was thinking about using a rubber fuel line or a garden hose to help keep it away from the cab or even a rubber ball. Also the is a grab handle about half way up the back of the cab just below the back window. I thought about mounting it there also. I would then have to run a ground cable down...
OK so what would be the best size coax for the job? and also if I were to use an extender at the bottom of the antenna instead of a spring say like a Wilson Antennas Replacement 5 0r 10" Stainless Steel Shaft would that make a difference....would it help it or hurt it?
I have a Magnum S9 that I am planning on using in a Peterbilt Daycab truck. I've used the Wislon 1000 and the 5000 trucker mirror mount antennas before. This time around I want to use an 102" whip and from what I can understand is that I'll probably have to use a spring or some kind of an...
I know that it's probably been asked before but I want to know just what is the Best Base Antenna to be used with a Galaxy DX 2547 Base Station and maybe a Linear if I need one? Or maybe I'll just use a Magnum S-9 with the RX-75 installed as a base. Either way I need to know what the Best Base...
OK..... I used the 125 PL mount and the Z-180, set it in the middle of the cab on my '03 Sliverado ext cab and got a 1.3 on ch. 12 all the way up to ch. 40 and from ch. 11 it raises up to 1.4 down to ch. 1. So I'm gonna try it out and see's what happens.
ooooops! I've messed up! I didn't order the 145 pl, instead I ordered the 125 pl. Oh Well guess I'll have to go and order the correct one from DNJ. btw have you seen the 160pl?
It's already here and I'm gonna put it all together tomorrow. I'l be using a Magnum S-9, dead key about 2 or 3 and swings about 40 watts without the turbo mod and with it, it swings about 50 watts. Everyone that I talk to says it loud and proud. I have another Magnum S-9 with RX-75 installed...
I just don't understand why some of guys get your bloomers in a wad, I just asked a simple yes or no question. That's why I come here is to read, learn and ask. If I was as smart as some of them here I wouldn't have asked. Some here get way to excited and it feels like they're talking to me like...
Hey that's what they call them on Ebay is a ground plane for a mag mount. That's what I was asking if it would help or hurt? If anything it's an attention getter, I had one screwed into a Wilson mag mount with the Wilson 5000 screwed down on top of it. It didn't hurt my swr's but it sure got...
I got me one of the pl145 mag mounts off of Ebay. Shipping and all was $36 even. It should be here tomorrow. Upon further inspection of my antenna I don't think it's a Sirio 5000 but instead it's an Z-180 and the round blue sticker on the side has RM in it. I don't know if they're any good or...
Yea I was kinda thinking about using the pl145 mag mount because it look bigger than the Wilson mag mount, I mean almost 6" of hold compared to 4 and 3/4ths!
Thanks Space Cowboy for the info. On the Magnum S-9's you have to take all of the knobs off, remove the bottom and top covers, and remove the front bezel in order to get to the control pods. So I tightened up the nut on the volume shaft and put everything back together. Project time.....about 30...
