Northstar I have sold a few 3 series. The customers seem happy. I had a few led problems. That is about it. Same with the 9 series. Stan seems like a stand up guy and he has been very helpfull.

Would gasfet or mosfet be a better choice? I realize that both have a faster gate time and linearity vs bi polar. Except for a little cost savings why would Ranger use the bi polar. It seems by adding only a few dollars in better parts they would have a way better radio? Would the gasfets be...

I believe Justin is correct on this one. For a pure radio the RCI 2950dx or the President Lincoln are better radios receive and transmit. The Magnum, Galaxys, and Connex radios have more toys, are less stable on SSB and their receivers are a bit noisy. Same with the Northpoints.
