I know what you mean when you talk about current. I have a Denon PMA-900V integrated that really drives a set of 4 ohm speakers well.
I know this is the wrong forum, but you guys know about the big RF tubes. This is a backwords kinda question around here, but could you build mono block audio amps like these with 1 big Eimac or something similar instead of all (8 in each amp) of those 6LQ6's?

The instuction sheet lists one transistor as 12N5401
Is it OK to use 6JE6, 6JE6A, & 6JE6B tubes for the driver in my Thunderbolt 305? I have a good stock of these things & would like to use them instead of my 6LQ6's if possible.
