Anyone have any ideas on how to fix the heat shield on the bottom of the 2970n2? A couple of the little tabs that snap into the heat sink that hold the shield in place are broken off. I called radioshopsupply to see if I could get another one ordered, but it will be a super inter-galactic order...
I just gave $200 for an almost mint TS820S on ebay a few weeks ago. I thought it was a steal. It had one or two minor issues that my tech said would be easy to fix. Here is a link to the ebay listing so you can see the pics. This a VERY CLEAN radio, it has very little running time on it...
Im going to send it in shortly. Im here just wondering what the factory specs are supposed to be. Im curious to know what the amp gate voltages should be set at for a 100w dead key. The Galaxy 98VHP specs say 4 volts and 65w deadkey.

I dont see what the big deal is. I didnt know all ham radio equipment has to be "type-accepted" now. Since we are supposedly allowed to experiment and build our own equipment, why cant i pick up a used cb (export or whatever) and modify it to get on 10m? If this is the case, then we shouldnt be...
