Strange issue have a Stonewall here large signals lock it up like it's keyed the needle goes all the way over like its keyed knocks the rx audio out but it isn't actually keyed up. If I cut the rf gain back it does this less but it will also do it with just normal noise or skip running at times...
Hey did you get a chance to look for a hook up spot for this? I also have the upd2816 version I'll need the same information for as well the off set and hook up point I'll probably just set them for reading correctly on rx.
Now I'm looking for where to install the input pin on the 6 digit blue counter for an 858 am Dwight D radio and the offset that would need set for this radio still 7.8 mhz? Hope someone can help please.
I have one here that the display never shuts off.
The wx alert is off so that's not it you plug it in and it doesn't do the power on for a sec then back off thing like it's supposed too. with the power switch off the display just stays on any ideas what I can remove to stop this and make it just...
Started to mod this with the same mod as 02A ge radios and will not do the lower few channels
with pin 11 bridged with 3.3k and switch to pin 8 any Idea on this one?
Found it loose small electrolytic by the pll the trace was broken were the cap had been moved around or something. Thanks for the help Andy I never would have found it had you not pointed those 3 caps out as a possible issue. Now on to the next thing Channel mod for trc-485
Did the electrolytic 10 volt caps already what cap is for the agc on this radio and I'll check the voltages at pll Yes the tx is great local on the phone when testing hears me 20 miles away just can't hear him respond cause the rx is not locking on the same channel. Got lot's of spare uniden and...
Yes when keyed both diodes drop to 3.5 ish on the banded side of both d17 and d18 yes it unmodded for slide. How many volts am I looking for on pin 7 and 11 of the pll and what should it be on tx and rx?
Touching back on this finally guess it was 78xl pre weather added actually checked both the vco diodes not surface mounts on this model actually in locations d13 and d16 both test fine both other diodes are around 5.5 volts rx drop to 3.5ish on tx so far have replaced the whole channel selector...
New mic was tried this is the one I use on the bench all the time works fine on my radio. changed the chip changed tr17 supposedly the mic amp and the 10 volt cap next to it for good measure nada still for tx audio or pa audio.
Well I think I have Schematics for the older 29's somewhere but not this newer style with tda2030 any idea what transistor acts as the mic preamplifier?
Have this on the bench with the tda2003 audio chip I have rx audio just fine no tx audio at all.
Not even the pa shows any tx audio any ideas? Half burned out audio chip I think they run the tda2003 in bridge mode
could half be tx half rx?
