    If filter question

im not a ham but i'll try explain. they are both for minimizing receiver interference from other stations using usb/lsb mode. as you know with a single side band when tuning off frequency the station can sound higher or lower audio pitched. anyway when you turn the if shift to the right the...

    Spark gap transmiiter porn

well post up if you do build one. I think the basic electronics are similar to a tesla coil and those are easily made with automotive sparking coils. I wonder would they be usable with a custom high and low pass filter?

In need of wisdom for new radio

to stop the lights flashing in your dash would involve a lot of complicated copper braid grounding on the panels and exhaust of your car which i don't understand how to do correctly without creating ground loops. You can also dismantle the dash and fit snap-on ferrites near every instrument...

Setting up a station low watts.

a large 8 ohm external speaker in a correctly sized wooden box for good bass can make a surprising difference for weak signals and audio fidelity. i used 2 4ohm car speakers in series for mine. desktop power mikes are handy cos you don't get a cramp in your elbow with long overs.

    Three digit call signs?

typically if you hear say unit 123 then nobody gave them the callsign. They just made it up off the top of their head. its just a number to distinguish themselves from all the other jims, daves, and roberts, on the radio. if you hear say 2WR123 then the WR 11 meter club has agreed that they can...

So I was thinking about the MRF150

maybe you're getting confused with the arf448. those can run on 150volts dc and produce 140 watts and the arf446 is the 250v 140 watt version http://www.richardsonrfpd.com/resources/RellDocuments/SYS_4/ARF448%20C.pdf
