What I gathered from talking to Bob (and from what I remember)......It will be under 190 watts on AM and SSB no problem! I have confidence that the guy knows what he is doing, and he does a lot for the measly $30 he charges..... You can't beat both local and internet reports when it comes...

Echo that SR385. I've been using the TH-F6A, and since I mainly keep the dial on public service communications, it works rather well. Wanted that all-in-one solution....lol

I totally dig local communication.....it's much better than skip (to me)....but the skip (when it rolls through) is pretty good though!! Me thinks I like it all!! :)

That's true, but I believe it goes hand in hand with the entire alignment process. The radio is designed to handle more, and that's what these shops do to give you all that modulation!!! I'm no expert on any of this stuff, but I know that a radio tuned to not exceed 100% modulation, may have...

reading between the lines of the Daiwa CN-101L eham review, I felt it was a winner......so, for me (at least), I found a great SWR/Power Meter, despite some negative reviews on eham.

Have you considered the most awesome Kenwood TH-F6A? With repeaters, the stock antenna may or may not limit you, and you could find that an antenna such as the Diamond SRH320A, will do the trick. This will be a $325 investment (if you buy new) before upgrading your antenna....upgrading...

Old thread, but just thought I'd contribute. I downloaded the entire question pool with graphics (from QRZ, I believe), and earned my general class license in just a few weeks. It can be done!!

I don't know about some of you all, but I recently received my general ticket, and I haven't used privilege 1 of my general class license. In my area, I have rediscovered 11 meter, and I myself, really enjoy being able to communicate virtually anytime - day or night. But, that's just me...

Coolio. I remember reading CB World Informer a few years back, and really dug it. Now, I find myself reading a bit of it today again. Great publication, and no doubt... Bob knows his stuff!!

It's some funny shiate! And, believe it or not -- I get 1:1 SWR's without a ground!!! Go flippin' figure!!!! Antron 99 mounted vertically on a tripod in my closet barely clearing the top of the attic! :P
