Also one important point to remember is that a 1/4 wave ground plane will present a more circular pattern in a favorable installation. and the 5/8 and .64 will present lobes and nulls in its patterns, the lobes are usually represented as gain.
Just something to add to the equation.

Stack Moonraker 6 !!! WOW that's alot of metal up there. A standard pipe style kit will never hold those antennas a good wind storm and you'll be heading to the recycle center. You'll probably need to cross mount tower sections and rotate the entire tower at the base. Good luck with it. post a...
Which Browning antenna are you thinking about. I have the Penetrator version center coil with 12" shaft it works real good for me and you can't beat the price. Just keep the coil above everything and it will do great.

The rope is nylon braid, and it does help stop the vibrations from the wind which prevents the element from becoming brittle and quiets the antenna from singing. just be sure the rope is snug and fastened inside so it won't work out of the elements. I used the method in a Finco 4 ele...
Yes they radiate from the coil area, they have a good application with big rigs for getting over top the cab. I've always had the best reports with the center loaded antennas but thats on my cargo van.

There aren't any used ones because they fall apart and end up in the soda can barrell. Maco's Y-Quad would work just the same and they have a stacking kit and harness available. But till you go to this expence you may as well just put up a Shooting Star or a 4 element quad like the signal...
Gain figures for antennas are basically a referance of performance dbi is based on a ideal or perfect set of conditions, dbd is a better referance for it bases the gain figures over a true dipole or unity gain antenna. But every operator has to realize that these figures are set in a ideal...

I'm glad to see all the Hams posting here and
I would love to see a CDX Net on HF and maybe even some ham bands added to the CDX contest.
Lets Get er done!!!
I have a Mosley PRO-67B and I know they make a very good product, no skimming here.
I here good things about the Jo-Gunn's too, but if I had the choice I'd go with the Mosley product.
Good Luck

Why are the Ground plane kits a joke with the A-99 & iMAX 2000. Explain???
Is it becasue the lower section of these antennas are a counterpoise.?
I had a ground plane kit on my A-99 and I did not notice any differance with or without it.

Very good Freecell I have a real good understanding of E vs H Its can be so easy with a great teacher like yourself.
Here's what confused me, In my Yagi's specs. they list two different stacking distances one distance for H Plane and One distance for E Plane, but I guess what I'm missing...
I was thinking that two yagis stacked and co-phase positioned horizontally one above the other and spaced at the edges of each antennas capture area would be called E-plane.?
And two vertical yagis stacked on a horizontal boom beside each other and spaced properly would be H-Plane.
