Sorry to seem a bit confused, but this is new to me and I am a little confused. Since the old diode is a button type with no stripe can I just replace it with a new diode positioned just the same. With the small end of the button soldered to the positive lead and board just as the old one was...
Hi loose cannon. I have already removed the old diode. It is a button type reverse polarity diode. The top was soldered to the trace on the board and the bottom was sitting on a spot that looked like it was made for the diode to sit on. Not familiar with this type of dsiode and it has no band...
Hi loose cannon. I have ordered a new MR750 diode to replace the shorted out one in my texas star 500. The new one does not look like the old one which is a button type. Will that matter? Also I can see no stripe on the new one to determine current direction flow. Can you help me figure tat out...
My texas star 500 amplifier quit working. No lights for power or meter. I was told the power transistors were probably the issue and needed to be replaced. I also noticed one of the fuse holders was bad and replaced it. I then replaced all four power transistors and some resistors that looked...
Hi to all. My astatic 575M-6 mic battery wires broke off at the board where they were soldered to. I was able to resolder the positive wire back to the board. I I do not have enough solder or wire on the negative ground board to resolder it back. Can someone tell me where on the board would be...
I am unable to post pictures. Sorry. I can reattach the positive battery wire to the board where it came off, but not the negative wire. Can you recommend a good alternate location to reattach the negative battery wire on the 575M-6 board?
Thanks
I am very old school and don't have a way to post pictures. I can reattach the battery positive wire to where it was , but not the negative wire. Any idea where a good ground location would be to reattach the negative wire to on the 575M-6 board?
Hi Greg T. Thanks for the info, but it does not help. I am unable to reattach the battery wires as they were, so my plan is to attach the negative ground battery wire to the stranded ground wire were it attaches to the pcb board on the inside of the mic. If I can tell which wire is hot coming...
The mic is wired to my Cherokee 1000 base radio. The iisue is the wires to the battery broke off flush with the pcb board and I can not reattach them as they were before they broke off. I can attach the negative wire to the stranded wire where it has a solder connection as it enters the inside...
I was trying to uncouple the battery from the connector when it pulled the battery wires off the mic circuit board. There is nothing left to solder to so can I drill the holes out at the board connections and put new wires through the board and resolder them? I have a bit small enough to do this...
Can someone make or give me a simple diagram to wire a Turner super sidekick mic to a Cherokee 1000 cb. Mic wire colors to match pin out on Cherokee 5 pin plug.
Thanks for your help here

Trying to be more specific, does the keying switch with the slot around the sguare post fit into the plastic key some how? That is where a picture would be very helpful.
Thanks again
I need to see how the keying switch in the picture with the green board makes contact with the plastic key itself. If you have a picture of that it would help me.
Thank you Sir.
A picture of the mic with the back off would help me determine if mine is correct or not. I can not find one on line. If you can provide that picture I would be most grateful Sir!
Does anyone have a short video showing the keying switch working on the Astatic 575 M-6 mic. I have a problem with mine and need to see the keying switch in action to address the problem.
Thanks Chuck Saylor
