Here's the close up of what I did to revive my rather old 1000 Mag mount. Spare K40 magnet with good foil to base of magnet, crimp terminal for new ground from coax. Greg

+1 on the threadlocker on the meter tension screw, my tech heated up the screw for 5 sec or so and was able to free up a 30+ year needle for me on a president S/RF meter.

same issue with mine. I pulled all the cable connectors to the board that has the LCD display and re-seated them. solved my problem. hope this helped. 73s greg

Good to hear a company stands behind their products. I now have less fear of buying a new 1000 or 5000 to replace my tired 1000 mag mount.
