Video/review of the revolutionary Icom-7300 Software defined Export CB

Well I am using it for CB so this is the best place to post it. Lighten up a bit, nothing wrong with some tounge and cheek humor. I see so many people spending tons of money buying hacked up cbs when the better thing would just be to buy one good radio vs trying to chase the holy grail of...

Wow!!! Galaxy LC 998v most expensive export?

I dont understand why someone would buy this? At this point just buy a FT-450D. it seems like a lot of hassle and expense. 900 dollars!! shit you can get an ICOM IC-7200 or FT-450D for less. and you can program in your 40 channels and have all the extra channels you want. I really do not...

Curious I wonder how many sales of Ham equipment goes for Out of band use.

The IC-7300 sounds real good on AM, tight BW I have seen quite a bit of IC-7200 doing duty as marine HF radios. :) so its not just CB, I remember when I was stationed in Africa seeing locals sporting older ham equipment to use for local communications.

Curious I wonder how many sales of Ham equipment goes for Out of band use.

Bootlegging on Ham frequencies is dumb, I say get the ticket. I did not know people actually try to impersonate legit operators.. Stupid, just take the exam and get a callsign.

Why you need a low pass filter when using a splatter box amplifier

Poor RM Italy amp being blamed for crimes it did not commit :) Now that said, some of the broadband versions you do want a lowpass filter ie the 27/586 if you plan on using a KL-506 vs the KL-503

Video/review of the revolutionary Icom-7300 Software defined Export CB

RM-Italy KL-503 compliments it well if you want but its not necessary. The IC-7300 is fine as it is no need for extra power. 100w pep SSB. Its a little lunchbox radio with the icom handle. I am amazed at how much technology is packed into such a small radio. would make for a nice NVIS setup...

Video/review of the revolutionary Icom-7300 Software defined Export CB

What makes it different then lets say an Amateur 10 meter transceiver that opened up transmits out of band? They call those export radios. Why do they call those export radios?

Video/review of the revolutionary Icom-7300 Software defined Export CB

I have been testing out the Icom IC-7300 Export radio for about 2 weeks now and so far it has impressed me over any other radio I have used. It is the best AM modulation I have heard out of any Export radio that has crossed my bench. Sideband is superb as well Zero drift with its 0.5 PPM TXCO...

RM Italy KL-503 woah! is stock CB safe?

I have to say full operation on it, also watched it on the Flir Thermal imager and they did a good job managing thermals, it takes the heat out of those pills quickly and dissipates it out evenly across the heatsink. it would peak at 92f and you would see it seconds later dissipate.

OPEN CLARIFIER / SLIDERS / "SUPER DIODES"

you should not have to unlock your clarifier to do SSB. If the radios are not defective they should transmit on frequency. This is why I prefer Icom etc.. for SSB

RM Italy KL-503 woah! is stock CB safe?

Okay got it tuned up. I really like this KL-503 amp it definately adds some higher modulation peaks on stock radio. Interesting. I got the dead key now to 2 watts. Great for AM and would fit the bill for most people anything more is wasting money. Oh and no splatter. its pretty tight.

RM Italy KL-503 woah! is stock CB safe?

At setting of 2 I am using 20 amps and pushing average 100w using the Dawia meter I could feel the amp get slightly warm. Is it being pushed too hard? I am using a stock Cobra 29LTD dont want to risk this amp. I am getting copy from crane operators far out from my location. they were actually...

Curious I wonder how many sales of Ham equipment goes for Out of band use.

With less people getting into Ham radio (New generation more interested in social media and video games) every sale counts. I wonder how much equipment sold is really for out of band use. I have seen plenty of Amateur radio equipment doing duty as Marine HF, LMR(ie contractors,NGO firms) in...

Anyone own a RM Italy HLA-300V plus?

Running the amp outdoors with average south florida temp outside 80-82 degrees and it runs very cool. With an unmodified CB it will give you a solid 250 watts PEP and it seems to just loaf at such output not breaking a sweat at all. The fans stay silent, my power supply actually runs hotter...
