I have a daiwa 801hp the 2kw model it comes with a cable that attaches to the meter and you ca. Just attach the cable end to your power supply. Pretty simple. It's a real nice unit.
Mines seems accurate to 5%
It should do easy 400pep on SSB. I will be testing that today.
I am getting real good reports on the audio, very clear and clean. On my analyzer, I see it stay within 7.5khz no splatter on center of frequency and very clear no distorted AM audio.
It runs ICE cold even with extended rag chewing...
got my RM italy. Wow it is a nice looking piece of equipment. And quite heavy, lots of heatsink material, quiet fans.
only doing like 5 watts into it and it loafs at 200w pep AM.
Clean output. Looking at the spectrum analyzer. Tight nicely modulated AM signal.
Impressive unit.
Why are you upset? The Military use non resonant wide band antennas and amps to make up for the inefficiency of the antenna.
I do not see what the issue is here.
165 dollars on amazon.
I also own a SEC 1235M that has been a solid power supply but needed a 50 amp unit for a future amp coming in.
While I wait I switched over to this unit and attached it to my IC-7410 radio.
I am impressed so far, quiet no noise on HF, The fan never kicks in even under...
The 300 is pretty much the 150 x 2
I plan at using it at lower output not to push this amp something like 180-190 pep on AM.
supposedly they use SD1446's x4
This is the link to the schematic/specs.
Schematic says v 2.0 so I am not sure what changed between 1.0...
They seem like a nice compact amp and rated for 300W, 550pep SSB. I am a bit skeptical about those numbers, I am thinking on 200W AM pep, 100w dead key realistically.
Anyone use one what do you think of it.
#1 build a better antenna or #2 push more watts to make up for the inefficiency.
Unfortunately I am at the #2 problem, I need to make up for the inefficient radiator via amp. cant put anything big.
I was looking at the X-force MF400 amp it seems like a decent little amp AB2, small and powered...
I am thinking of getting an Xforce MF400 mosfet base amp. but I saw that its a 25-30 day lead time?
Whats the difference between mosfet amps and regular pill amps?
Yeah I never understood why people spend so much to set up a radio, amp etc.. to do nothing but talk to themselves all day and key up the channel so no one can use it. Oh and transmit about 40khz wide AM. LOL
Work towards your General license. Then you can work 20 meters which is good during the day even now. And you can work 40 meters at night.
2 meters is dead.
The issues with the 7410 has been corrected as of serial number 2002073
Thanks. The ALC issues etc.. have been corrected on the ICOMS from serial 2002073 and up.
Its a great radio, lots of QRM fighting tools as well, notch filter is really good. I like the filter characteristics. I use the...
