My last 2 stroke was a 1973 RD250, the foundation for what evolved into the RZ's. The RD350 was a bored out 250 with disk brakes and the 6th gear unlocked. Wish I kept that one, paid $500 for it and it only had 6k miles. This was in 2007.
I want to find a 500cc Suzuki, 2 cylinder 2 stroke...
I would watch clist, epay for a trashed dak, boat anchor, something big. It would have benefits and drawbacks but you would already have a good foundation to build upon and plenty of room.
I hope we get more participation in the hobby. If not all the equipment we buy will just lose all value as our numbers dwindle and our collections and junk piles get bigger.
I ran a 102" on my '96 Saturn SC1 on a homemade truck mount. I normally run a 5.5' antenna but wanted to try it out since I bought 3 for my base antenna project. That thing was in the air mounted on the trunk!
I believe 80w per tube is all you should run 6lq6's. Can you post pics of the board side of that amp? I have a Rangemaster 500 that I believe is just a rebranded Thunderbolt. When I bought a lot of 3 amps, I didn't notice some wires were chewed through when I looked on the underside.
Stupid idea here but, what if you put a reflector under the beam opposite the radials? Be interesting what effect this would have to minimize the downward radiation.
