I purchased an extra whip for my Wilson 5000 and cut it for 10 meters the one for CB is centered in the middle of the band CH19 will work up to about 27.7xxx with an SWR right about 2.1. If you working both bands probably an extra whip is the cheapest way to go and it only take a few seconds to...

Hay thanks for posting photos! Look like the main matching network has more open hoops by compared to the original (see photo below) maybe the new ones have a more band with??? Looks nice.
I have done a few antenna in the tree set ups over the years, I use back to back strut and size the clamps that go around the tree. Strut is used in the electrical and plumbing fields so if you know someone you might get some for free, if not it can be purchased.
Perfect!! thanks for the information guys. Yeah the receiver needs some attention I am measuring about 3uv @ 10db sinad not very sensitive, a local guy brought me the radio to take a look at for him it will be nice to get it done and off the bench. Thanks again.
That is helpful info to get in on frequency, but do you by chance have the complete receiver tune up info? The main problem is the receiver has poor sensitivity.
Anyone by chance have the complete alignment info for both the TX and RX for the cobra 139xlr? the receiver on this radio is a bit numb and want to go through the whole thing.
Thanks
