Many years back, my boss went on a DXpedition in the pacific. Cant fully remember where. Kure, Kingman? Sorry just dont remember. But it was rare, and there was a planet pileup. Well, I was at work getting ready for an upcoming job. Needed the Boss' hammer drill. The prep meeting at work...
Hi. I recently found and bought a Scooper M-8080 which looks to be almost 99% identical to the Utac TRX-500. Only difference is the M-8080 has 2 banks of channels, CB and HI, the Utac just has a delta tune switch. Would you have Sams CB-181? I read that the Utac TRX-500 is in there. Thank you.

No. Gears must be on. But I think that shaft for the gear should be turning. At 62 my vision so-so. Maybe can feel the shaft spinning with your finger if you cant see it.
There they are! I see all 4. So back to the start. Need to measure if theres 120 vac at the 2 wires feeding the clock. As for the clock lamp, either its burnt out or no 12v to the lamp. Volt meter time.
Either they are under the board, or theres a diode bridge bolted to the heatsink somewhere. Sorry but normally no diodes, no dc brother. Got a pic of the bottom side of the chassis? You just stated rx is ok. So there must be something somewhere supplying 12v dc to the board.
Clock/gears should be turning when power is applied (cord plugged into outlet). I believe the clock lamp voltage is from the power supply. Seems like ac not getting to the clock or power supply.
No. Just removed the backplate of the clock. Small needle nose plyers did the rest. Hardest part was listening to my wife grumble as I tore open the brand new timer to steal the gear out
Yes Google it. Its those ac timers you use for like lamps and such. I bought mine at Home Depot but they are sold everywhere. Fixed both my Madison clocks. Open it up and use the gear to replace the bad one in the base clock.
Just curious. How many of you use this? Ive been using it over 30 years now and for me, I fly thru troubleshooting no or low rf output power problems. You can find them on ebay +/- $40. Really helps dial in what section the problem is in. I hope this helps someone.
