ok I managed to find an Amphenol 8 pin octal plug in my junk box... it almost fits... but it only lines up maybe 4 pins at a time, the other 4 are off a bit... what GIVES?
I am getting ready to setup a Heathkit Marauder HX-10 transmitter and my Realistic DX-300 reciver, I am planning to run separate antennas for the Transmitter and the Receiver... and eliminate the T/R relay

Basically I figured Receiver muting would accomplish everything in this case right...
So i went over to see my dad and stepmom in Kansas and he had an old Realistic dx300
He says he was using it last month... but it has a small issue
The display on the preselector will not rotate all the way down...
Also i can not seem to recieve anything but some local am stations. Not even...
Correct me if I am wrong but to be able to transmit on this radio there are 2 pins on the octal plug that should be crossed, right???
If that is true which pins do you cross?

I am thinking that ti pod A should have only the 3 element HF tribander (about 5 sq ft)
while tripod B should have,
top - 6 meter 2 element moxon (about 0.75 sq ft)
MIDDLE - 70CM 28 element (1.6 sq ft)
Bottom - 2m 11 element...
