ok well so far i managed to get 27.555 down to 1.5 and 38 1.3 but man this thing is touchy and the match either way goes up fast very fast.i lost the broadbandedness but still working on it!the height now is 21-10 inches, when i took it down i measured it to see and it was 20-10 1/2.at least i am...
i have been trying to get a .64 out of a maco, AT 21-10 INCHES AND DROPPING i am trying every angle without changing anything.i noticed you guys talking about the sigma 5/8 wow looks like this maco 5/8.i dont know if this will mean anything but here goes.when i moved the grounplane spider down...
thank you for the information i will be tuning this for 27.475 so i know it will probably be under 23 slightly.i tend to bounce between 27.385 and 27.555 and the maco length now is about 19 ft.i will take this down this evening and set it up on a pole, starting at 23 feet then adjusting my tap...
other thing i think i figured out a99 1/2 wave, starduster 1/2 wave.now i dont know if i am learning from all this reading or getting more confused my maco is stated a 5/8 wave using the cb as a operating frequency that tells me its only 5/8 wave at around 30 mhz fully extended(ithink).imax 2000...
thanks doc i guess i will go with 23 feet and go from there!to many things unclear but i am trying.basic .64 23 feet.imax radiating 22.6.penetrator 22.6 + or - 9.5 inches..64 free space 23.suggestion from another forum 22.13.my own thoughts 27.185 5/8 wave length 22.6*.015+22.6=22.95<leaning...
ok so i went through 76 pages of antennas here and saw i was not the only one wanting to make a .64 wave maco however i did notice that every time it turned quite controversial into a debate and was never clearly answered.has anyone tried this and am i on the right track at about 22.3 feet...
my homemade wire dipole came out to about 15 feet,i think that was channel 20.however if you need to add length try this cut the ball off at the top and crimp on 3/8s copper brake lines!i did this to my wilson 1000 to lengthen it for other frequencys.
thanks for the reply doc!i was thinking off going with purple.oh and the correct me if i am wrong part was the length on the p500 top hat, i think i read somewhere 19 inches that was just a ball park idea.i owned a avanti 101 years ago but cant remember the size of the top hat.on top of making...
ok guys lets get them gears turning!i dont know if this type of thread has been covered but here we go.first of all i recently made this top hat out of some old antenna parts, i went by the the super penetrator 500 specs of 19 inches, correct me if i am wrong or 9.5 mounted.now i have some more...
as you probably noticed i did not have room to do a circle on my addition but i could do a circle on the main roof however it would be an angled circle about 45 degrees tilted east hmmm i wonder how that would work.i will try it thanks.
thanks for sharing all this it was very interesting.back in the late 80s i owned a avanti 101 astroplane omni and a starduster i did not use the starduster often i thought the world of that avanti, i talked around the world with a bearfoot roadtalker mobile/base.until i got an imax i thought...
i have heard of this a few times i dont think the added weight would be an issue and i could not imagine it would amount to more than 1/2 a lb.the issue would be if you ever wanted to tune the antenna for another frequency then you would have to dig some of it out.so far my maco has held up to...
adjust your radiator for the middle of those two frequencys and then adjust your tap point left or right you should be able to get that way down to flat line in the middle with under a 1.5 top and bottom.i have a maco and it took a while to get it down but when i figured it out the antenna was...
ih booty i have a maco 5/8 up now and it is pretty broadbanded now at first my dip was a 1.3 and it was only workable on 1 band of 40 channels however after some tuning and tap adjustments i was able to find the flatline and that opened up the antenna a whole bunch.now the antenna is workable...
well it looks like it was pretty even between the two which is good since the price on the i10k is in my opinion too much.i personally would go with the wolf if i was in the market for a new antenna.
as far as i am concerned this speaker wire dipole i hung worked as good if not better than my a99.no baluns no tuners just speaker wire to coax.homemade 8 bay bowtie in backround for hd channels. or this horizontal 33 foot loop works quite well also.
