UNIDEN GRANT XL-HR 2510/2600-PRESIDENT WASHINGTON. OLD 148 COBRA. THE 2950DX HAS GOOD RECEIVE BUT THE WHITE NOISE IS ATROCIOUS. I GOT 3 UNIDEN GRANT XLS, A BUNCH OF 2510/2600 AND A 2950DX. THE OLD RADIOS ARE FAR BETTER FOR LESS WHITE NOISE BUY FAR. MY 2510 AND 2600 ARE THE BEST.

it will barely work. 5 or 6 amp as stated above.

I got a d-104 here with only 4 wires. dont know if its old or new cause i bought it used. has a silver eagle head on it but it probably wasnt a silver eagle cause all those ive seen are 6 wire. anyhow, the wires are yellow-black-red- and there bare sheild. doea anyone know the color code...

A lot of hard core cobra fans beleive the old original 148 cobra was/is better than the new ones. i tend to agree. but truth be told ive never owned a new or old 148 cobra. im a uniden grant xl man myself. for a couple more bucks i think id just get a new rci 2950dx. my 2 cents.

USE THE BUY IT NOW OPTION AND HOPE SOMEBODY SNAGS IT BEFORE THE EBAY POLICE DO. THEY GOT A REAL HARDON FOR 2510/2600. BUT IVE GOT MORE THAN ONE USEING THE BUY IT NOW. I BOUGHT ONE LIKE THIS AND A HOUR LATER I GET A NOTICE THAT THE AD WAS PULLED. TO LATE EBAY POLICE,DAMAGE WAS ALREADY DONE.

Looks like a sos electronics SCOUT 20. or a SUPER SCOUT. i think the scout 20 was 4 driving 4. the super scout was 4 driving 6 or 8.

i dont really remember how much the power spike actually is. havnt fired my 706 up in awhile. i got a 2510 that does this also. spikes to about 14 watts then settles to 5 watt carrier. youd probably have to turn that 706 down to a 5 watt dead key on am then youd probably be no better off than...

i would probably only try it on ssb and then i would turn the power down to where the 706 was not putting out over 30 watts. on am i see what bob85 is talking about with my 706mk2 when you key the mic it has like a small power spike then settles down to the right carrier.(yaesu ys-60 meter) this...

Have any of you tube amp guys ever had or have any experience with the old scout 20 4x4 amp.?? i know is a low drive 4 driving 4 and its useing 4- 6jt6a and 4-6mj6 tubes. so lets hear it, good,bad or ugly.

Does it matter which direction a guy strings these di-poles up ? north to south, east to west.?? is the ladder line or the round coax better.?? i was looking at the link 7732granitstate posted and it looks like some use both ladder line into rg8x coax. that right.?? 300 ohm ladder line into 50...

The 25 to 150 is about right. any hotter than that its shelf life goes down.

Yah, the 756 has all the hook ups. i was just saying a guy has alot more options with that radio.

Moleculo, i emailed bob the guy that makes those cables to key the amp and he said there is no physical room in the plug to put a alc line. so as far as the 706 to that amp i guess it wont have one. i got a 756pro2 that has the alc/send and assesory plug so a guy could hook up a alc line on it...
