    Mag mount stuck to a large cooky sheet or similar large steel pan next to a window or stuck to radiator which are usualy next to a window. Even a fridge or stove!!

    Sprucing From your posts it looks like some one had their sweaty little hands in that radio, I hate when people do that, can you resolder the old one, if not you can probobly get one at KENS or RADIO SHACK. Kens should also have the SAMS PHOTO FAX repair manual for that radio.

    Clean all the connections channel selecter, squeich, volume, crystal sockets etc, first and see if it transmits on all channels if you need crystals or tubes KENS ELECTRONICS should be able to help you, have fun neet radio !

    A Hand Held maybe, BUT YOU DONT KNOW HOW IT WILL EFFECT THE AIRCRAFTS ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS OR INSTRUMENTS,SO ITS NOT A GOOD IDEA!! THATS WHY THEY WANT IT CERTIFIED BY THE FAA. NOT YELLING JUST WANT TO MAKE A POINT BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY!
