    About 3-4 years ago down here the local lumpers and taxis would go at it with radio's so dirty and unmodulated that it made the "ch6 sound" sound like am FM broadcast. I work about 1500' from the airport here and I used to be able to go out to my truck and no matter what channel you would get...

    Within the "40 channels" there are a few that jump 20khz. Some refer to them as 'a' channels. You use that switch to get in between them. Some of the other guys can check me for accuracy as I don't have a channel chart in front of me at the moment. 3, 7, 11, 15, 19 & 23 I bleieve.

    I had a RCI 2970 years ago when the green faces first came out. I was told a resounding NO back then. Just know that this is a slightly different design and I am sure u am dealing with a better set of minds than before.
