no anl only nb ctss can be put in but it would be fixed as there is no button you could use to turn it on/off like the president hr2600 you would have to lift the lid to change the code.not very practical ..we are at the limit of what we can do with the chassis. ctss is not used down this...

forgive me if i compare to a cb radio..but its a good example when it comes to a NB the yaesu nb the difference is WHERE the NB is located in the rx chain...most real ham transceivers the NB is within the I.F chain after the mixer just before the main I.F filter.so works at the IF frequency...

we have 2 of the dak 9's...after removing all the after market crap people did to them and all the usual recapping and realignment they seem to work fine ..actually better than the ssb version does on am the dak 10 ..recapped and removed the crap extra channels etc mods ..works as any...

if the optima has the factory stock tiny phantom powered mic you are not giving it a chance always hated that mic..and argued with the manufacturer for 6 years over it...the rest is history .
