I picked up a decent S-9 today. I wanted to have the extra one as a backup and run off the PS on the Sirio GM. Anyway, it has low out put and the variable power seems to be disabled. The radio does transmit but I'm not showing anything over 5 watts with near zero key on AM. SSB is the same...

I'm sending one off on the 12th because when you turn up the rf power on ssb, and make a transmission, when you un key the mic there is zero receive audio. You must turn the entire transceiver off and back on again to re gain receive audio.

Well I went out on a whim and scratched the whole Galaxy idea, and I told my friend to just keep the 257. I ordered a CRE 8900 from DTB. Looks like a good SSB radio with neat features. Let the negative and positive talk begin!
