That's probably the only nice option about buying from a truckstop is the 30 day return policy.

I think Ty is helping you out on the other forum where you posted the same question.
Normally if RX is good but TX is shifting that far you have a problem in the TX oscillator or the clarifier circuit.
To determine which, just check to see if the TX frequency shift is happening in all...
I would guess since Mitsubishi has stopped producing 2SC1969 transistors, the "250,000 pieces" you mention are cloned copies. Otherwise Ranger and other manufactures would continue buying them as would larger component part companies like RF Parts.
L33 and L37 are just resistors with a ferrite bead on one lead to block RF from the DC bias.
The update for that as shown is to replace the L33 and L37 with 22uH chokes.
It doesn't do a lot towards increasing output power.
Quite some time ago we upgraded the 2SB754 with a 2SB827 so you...
This typically happens when tweak shops cut the ALC or some mod shop has put in their Super Secret Mega Whooper.
Now your SSB audio sounds like crap but hey, your blowing smoke with that excessive flat-topping over distorted AM audio.

Here is the current production of the DX2517 schematic showing IRF520 mosfets. You should be able to make the changes to your radio using that schematic.

I find that a little hard to believe since every email to Galaxy is replied to by me. You might have been told it's no longer in production and some part support for it may not be available.
Although I am nearing the age of senility so who knows but you'd need to show me the headers with...

AM - 1kc tone 95% modulated = 200 watts @ 28 amps
SSB - with 2 tone injection = 200 watts @ 35 amps
I tried to push it a little harder but it just increases IMD and you will immediately see the modulated waveform on the scope go to crap.
