That board is just the front control board on front of radio. Here is the actual robot/echo board inside the radio.
Galaxy Radios DX2527 Service Manual
I have a galaxy dx-2527 base and the problem I am having is the echo. This radio has 2 knobs on the front face one for echo and one for time. The problem I am having is when I just crack open the echo everyone tells me I have to much echo and I can't turn it down anymore on the front. Is there...
Exactly !!!! Aluminum antennas are the way to go not fiberglass for sure. My spt-500 is smoking my old imax 2000 not even close. People I talked to before I had to run power with, I can now talk to them barefooted. The sound is even clearer sounding and crisp with the spt-500. I love it and...
Got the penetrator up yesterday and all I can say is WOW what a difference over the Imax2000. The Penetrator 500 walks all over the imax. Wish I did this a long time ago. No more finberglass for me....
One more question, I don,t have a very big yard to set this up on and the back yard has a chainlink fence around it. Will that bother the antenna while tuning it? How far awat from fence do i need to be to be safe ? Thanks...
Ok I got the 40 channel manual to work and from looking it over it is saying 22'9" is how tall the radiator should be ? That is what the old 1975 manual says for the penetrator 22' 9 1/2" is what the manual says. Is that where i need to set my new penetrator?
From what I have read from the early 1975 spt-500 manual that was advertized for 11 meter. Radiator should be 22' 9.5" long and the ground plane radials should be the normal 105" or 8' 9" long. That is where im setting mine at and i bet that will be right on for 11 meters.
Thanks guys for all the input. So I can take off the black rubber tips on the radiator tubes and it won't hurt anything. I just want to make sure no water gets trapped inside the tubes.
Did anyone read my last question? Should I use silicone to seal up the joints as I put them together or just clamp them and go on. Will water hurt them if water gets into the elements? Thank you.....
Ok one more question. When putting this antenna together should I just clean the aluminum tubes install clamp and forget it or should I use some silicon to seal up the joints so water doesn't get into the tubes or does it matter if water gets in there. Thanks for any help.....
Someone clipped one leg of tr-32 to make the radio swing but it also made the audio sound like crap because there was now no limiter working. I soldered the leg back on tr-32 and opened up vr-14 pot and now my audio is awesome. Thinking about installing swing kit in this radio but not sude what...
