Homer I'm getting it there right now need to lengthen it a little to get swr down got it to 1.7-1 right now but it is working better. Was gone over the road all week so I will do it this weekend
I dont think it would work cause you would have the pos. (center) ground (shield) If you could disconect one on the right side the the other on the left side it might work but then you have the shield which would do what it is supposed to do block the signal what I did was take was take some pvc...
well the k40 metal antennas with a coil are easy to tune they have a set screw where the stinger is put in and you raise and lower it to tune you may have to clip the stinger a little only do about an eighth of an inch each time and check it
I have an this old mocat and only dk 2 watts and swing to like 4 I thought something was wrong with the radio but I works got a good report on it is there a way to turn it up a little
Well my swr went back up there is one or two things causing this not sure wanting some help first in the middle I put a peice of metal in pvc then put them in the conduit I know the metal is not touching the poles used it for strength. The other thing is to attach it to the tree I'm using wire...
If you are happy with your 29 keep it get it tuned for an amp. Get a predator 10k good coax (don't worry about the length as long as it will reach your antenna thats all you need). A good power mic is the astatic d104 hand held. I would start out with the antenna coax and power mic see how that...
no haven't grounded it yet am going to this weekend. I have it mounted vertical so what would be different if any does the wires need to run another way or would copper be enough better to warrant the price
Well I figured out the swr issue got it down to 1.7to1 going to trim alittle more off this weekend maybe get it even lower. Now my problem is that it doesnt tx and rx like I think it should and the tip of the antenna is like twenty five feet at the top. it talks about 2 miles and recieves about...
Well I have two of the cam 89s also have a 89gtl which is just the fourty channel cam 89. I get nothing but good reports from my 89gtl the other two I'm taking to radios with small problems and making one good radio
Well that is what I thought I don't like the splatter and I also like crisp clean modulation that is why I plan on putting it back right then turn mod. to 100% and let it be
I am in somewhat of an argument with another cber on a different forum and I came here to get the real answer. I have a uniden grantxl that i noticed the modulation limiter had been rendered not working and asked for some help on how to fix it.Well this guy says it would be louder without it but...
Well I got the radio today it looks awesome. Looks like a brand new radio, even came with original manual. Got to let it warm up to room temp before plugging it in. I don't know if I'm going to crack this radio open need to get it on my meter first.
Whatever you do don't use the coax that comes stock in the truck it is cheap and alot of the time is slpiced along the run somewhere to make it easier for the factory to install it
Well the radio it read that number on was an old courier caravelle 2 but on my uniden grant xl it reads 27.2149 and 27.2150 it goes back and forth so that was why I think the radio is off freq. cause my grant gets great reports all the time
After reading the replies the meter is only 1 number off on the last digit of the counter it shows 4 when it should be 5 so with plus or minus 1 it is right on.
