Iwas very pleased with the reports of the clear loud modulation on my Delta Force, probably the best iv had stock but the receive especially on FM was not even close to my 2950DX/2995DX
Of the exports my best receive until now is the 2950DX and the 2995DX after i took away the original underpowered powersupply and modified it for an external 40amp powersupply
In Norway we have 220v 50hz system which made the internal powersupply inerfere both tx and rx
I prefer the softer...
It looks like my old Magnum Delta Force with a little less punch.
What about a Galaxy DX95T2

This looks like it could do well barefoot
I have a 2950DX along with a 2995DX and a Pres lincoln, Pres George and a Pres Jackson DX, but i cant have to many of theese things. I just dont want to buy a S9 and get dissapointed from what i am used with, but i want a classic looking but powerful radio to.
Kind of liked the big meter of...
Have anyone here used this radio?
I have considered this radio for a while but have a few questions.
How is the recieve compared to a 2950DX AM, FM, USB, LSB?
I have had a Delta Force which didnt have good enough ears for me FM mode
Is it a stabil radio considering drifting on the...
That the only way to be sure of the swr at the antenna, put the meter at the feeding point if possible, of course you have loss in a coax, we dont argue that. But tune the antenna and then work with the rest of the system when you know the correct value at the feeding point you have the correct...
Sounds like you have problem with bad grounding and RF current/flow back into your meters. You might not discover theese problems at low wattage but when you use high power a lot of strange problem occur. Start with checking all your plugs especially the shield of the coax, if possible solder...
Thats the only reason i baught a 2995dx and a 2950dx instead, more expensive total but with a little pill box in the back of a well tuned 2950dx you have a better solution.
I think the techs took a beer to much when they decided where to put the heatsinks :D
tell them were you choose to tune to change the voltage regulator 2SB754 with a 2SB817 which will serve the transistors better and not heat up as much as the 2SB754.
The 2970DX get hot enough as it is with its cooling ribs on the bottom of the radio.
Why didnt they turn it upside down and...
Mine has a good recieve on AM/SSB but on FM my 2950DX 2995DX beats it on the finish line. The George is kind of light in the tone RX but when i use the HiCut function its more comfortable and not so noisy.
When i run a dummy load the integrated swr meter reads 1.5 at 4w and 2.0 at 15w, not to...
I agree Beetle, its not different from HAM to CB, only a lot of wrong roomors of this and that from someone who dare to call themselves a TECH.
As long as the antenna is not as efficient as it perfectly can be, the readings close to the radio dont mean anything to me. If one still believe in...
If you "tune the coax" for the freq by adjusting the length of the coax you may be fooling yourself. Then your coax may be acting as a part of the antenna and not as a feedline. RF current make strange things happen to high powered systems when coax act as a part of the antenna and not as a...
Hello
I have a Ranger RCI 2995DX and it works 24.000mhz-32000mhz.
Im very satisfied with the radio but i have modified it to work with a external powersupply because the inbuilt powersupply didnt like the european 220V 50hz. Its even better now because a inbuilt powersupply often give...
