    I do have a car charger. It's a Yaesu E-DC-5B, WORKS WELL. Also I have a power cord with a plug for the VX-170. BUT NEVER USED IT. Don't recall the number.

    Rodger, I've had no problems other than learning how to program it. Just like Dudmuck said speak into the mike. Or buy a hand held mic. You got a very deal at HRO. Enjoy your new toy.

    Airplane 1, I've run a VX-170 for over 2 years. And no problems at all. I love it so much that I was going to get a VX-7r. But got a FT-7800r instead. I may get a VX-8r.

    I have 2 of the Magnum 257's. Mine have the blue display. I think they are one of the best kept secrects in the radio world. Very good TX & RX. A great performer and at great price. They even have a speech compresser installed. The lastest ones have dual 2030's and do 50 watts+. At less then...
