In addition to the HF radios, the engineers are working on digital business band radios so that is delaying things also. Further, there is the pending petition for rule change before the FCC. They have lots of stuff in the works, just not coming on the market yet. Anyway, most of you are...
They do have new radios. Problem is between the time I see them and the time they actually get on the market, someone else has copied them because some supplier wants a cheaper price. Someone has to pay for new engineering.
eBay will remove all strikes if the ad was removed improperly. The agreement was they will not pull ads if the Ranger radio is not modified or advertised as capable of being modified. Everytime a new rep is assigned, there is a chance of an ad being pulled. Since the settlement, I think there...
The settlement agreement contained a confidentiality clause so it can't be posted, however if you advertised an unmodified Ranger radio and it was pulled, I just need a copy of eBay's email pulling the ad and I will get it reinstated.
As part of the FCC's request for comments on changing Part 95 rules, Ranger has asked the FCC to increase the power on CBs. Others have too. In fact, one individual has asked that the FCC forbid manufacturers from making CB radios with less than 50 watts (I believe) arguing if the power is...
I have cross examined 6. All looked to be over 40 (they don't give out personal info, such as age, address, etc). Only one ever had an Amateur license, and he is the only one who ever owned or used a CB or Amateur radio. He also admitted the Ranger radios were legal if unmodified.
Except that reporters report, they don't give out fines. The FCC agent should know the rules he is trying to enforce, and be an expert in the equipment he is writing about. In my experience, most of the FCC agents wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a CB from an 8 track tape player.
99 percent of people in the FCC don't know what the hell they are talking about. Agents have their pet peeves, and they throw their weight around to get what they want, legal or not.
Just an FYI. In order to cite someone for violating rules which do not involved licensed activity, one must first be given a written warning, called a citation. If after receiving the citation, one repeats the conduct, it is considered wilfull conduct. If no citation is given, the court will...
Patent and copyright protection wasn't that big a deal when these radios were designed. People didn't really start filing patents and copyrights on everything possible until about 20 years ago. Before that, people didn't realize how valuable patents and copyrights could be.
