Uniden has no copyright on the circuit board design. You can't copyright a function, only the artistic expression or appearance. Also, you cannot sue for copyright infringement unless the copyright is registered. Uniden has never registered any copyright on the PCB layout.
Your assumptions are wrong.
Just a guess, but I could see something like this happening. When electronics are imported, the importer has to file a certification with the FCC that the product is either certified or that it doesn't need certification. Amateur radios don't need certification...
CB shop business was killed by the internet and distributors who agree to drop ship. If you can find a distributor who drop ships, you can open an internet site, post a bunch of pictures of product you don't have in inventory, sell at the distributor's price and add $10 for "shipping and...
Sounds like this guy will sue you, based on your lawyer's search of the court dockets. Hard case to prove, but he could call you as a witness and force you to testify since it is a civil case. Changing your radio back to stock is problematic. Generally, subsequent remedial measures are not...

Unfortunately eBay insisted on a confidential agreement. We are only allowed to disclose that eBay will not remove ads for unmodified Ranger radios in the future.
Actually, the Stryker may fall within the definition of "easy to modify" which might be trouble should the FCC decide to go after sellers of those units. Haven't looked at one in a few years, so I don't know if the design has changed.
